Date Bars with Brazil Nuts and Walnuts

LARA BARS are a famous brand of raw vegan date bars.  These date bars with Brazil Nuts and Walnuts are not really Lara Bars and do not follow any recipe they created, but to me they are the best Lara Bar you can have.

What are Lara Bars?  They are healthy and nutritious date bars with ground dates, nuts, some seasoning and sea salt with water added to mix everything well.

I have added in some black seeds and raisins for extra flavors along with some sesame seeds.  You can add or subtract as you like.  The original Lara Bars used cinnamon as their seasoning, but cinnamon is not approved by Dr. Sebi and so instead we will add in some all spice.

They are so easy to make and dates have so many benefits.  Read on the benefits here.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Strong Food Processor
Two handed chopped for the Brazil Nuts or regular knife  - optional
Raw Nuts, not processed or with salt
Stainless steel or glass rectangle pan to put the date bars in
Non-stick spray for the pan and your hands
A sharp knife to cut the bars with
A container with a good seal to store the Lara Bars in.

Ingredients of the Lara Bars

  • 2 cups of pressed dates (you can use regular deseeded dates)
  • 1/2 cup of Brazil Nuts
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1/4 cup of raisins
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon of black seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of all spice
  • Dash of Sea Salt
  • Water

Directions

Place the Brazil Nuts and Walnuts in the food blender and pulse until they are small chopped.  If you do not have a food processor, you can use the two handed chopping knife to cut the nuts to a small chop.

Now add in the raisins, black seeds, sesame seeds and spices.  Pulse again for a few times.  Make sure to use seeded raisins.

Now take the paste of dates and add in 1/4 cup of time to the food processor and pulse after each addition.

Add in water if the batch becomes too thick.  After everything is added, spray your rectangle pan with non-stick spray and then spray your hands also.

Press the mixture into the pan very tight and securely.  Place in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

After 2 hours cut the bars into rectangle size bars and store in an air-tight container.  The bars will keep for a few weeks.  ENJOY!!

NOTE:  You can make the date bars by hand in a large bowl, if you do not have a food processor.
